Workshops

Under this programme  working mathematicians specialized in specific currently active research areas meet at KSOM and carry out research and work on specific problems for duration of two to three weeks. Research workshops at KSOM are designed to promote in house research activity at KSOM towards developing the institute as a centre for research in certain core areas of mathematics.

2. Research Workshop on `Operator Systems' -II

11-20 June 2012

This diccussion meeting was a continuation of the meeting “Research workshop on operator systems” held during 24th October to 7th November 2011 at Kerala School Of Mathematics. The work done during the two meeting deals with Non-commutative versions of classical approximation theory and its geometrical formulations such as theory of Choquet boundary, Chebyshev system etc.

A pre-print titled ‘peak points for Non-commutative Operator system’ is pre-pared during the meeting and it is ready to be communicated to an international journal for publication. The article is related to and improves upon published work by G K Pedersen.

The present work opens up a lot of directions and poses quite a few questions on the above topics intend to take up during future meeting that include workshop and conferences.
